Women’s Rights and Gender Justice Program Coordinator
About The Position:
The Women’s Rights and Gender Justice (WRGJ) Program Coordinator will work closely with the Regional Connectors and country programme staff to catalyse the growth and development of the WRGJ programme and ensure gender mainstreaming across other programmes. The position also provides leadership and effective coordination in developing and delivering on related policy influencing initiatives while participating in resource mobilisation in line with Oxfam in Zimbabwe’s Programmatic Strategic Framework 2016- 2020.
This position will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of a sound Women’s Rights and Gender Justice programme , in line with the Country Strategy to leverage evidence gathered through humanitarian and development work for influencing work (policy, campaigning and advocacy) working with partners and networks. Provide and share regular analysis on political and programme developments from a gender lens. Establish and maintain functional relationships with policy makers, government officials, political parties, civil society, development partners and other interest groups who can either be targets or alliance partners of our gender related advocacy and influencing work. The Women’s rights Justice and Gender Programme Coordinator, over and above the responsibilities described herein, is part of the first line of Oxfam responders in the event of a CAT 1 or CAT 2 humanitarian crisis being declared, therefore can be assigned to support and/or lead the response as part of our imperative to saving lives while ensuring commitments to donors and beneficiaries on ongoing work.
What We Are Looking For:
- Advanced degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences or relevant qualification
- Minimum 3 of years working experience in similar post
- Experience of building alliances, networking around gender issues and delivering impact advocacy on women’s rights
- Proven experience in designing and implementing advocacy strategies and campaigns on gender justice and women’s rights.
