Role overview
The main objective of the consultancy is to facilitate a 3 day training to correctional officers within the region. A proposal from a highly experienced/professional trainer is welcome for the following key functions:

  • To develop interactive and detailed training session accompanying background material for the delivery of training workshops on the effective strategies on the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners
  • Improve rehabilitation and reintegration knowledge and skills using a structured process or models.
    to advance correctional excellence of VSO work in prisons on research, practice and policy
  • Deliver 3-day training of trainers for selected participants and support the development of country specific reintegration strategy documents
  • Deliver the training guidelines in addition to content and tools.
  • Develop training workshop report with recommendations for further addressing rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners.

 

Skills, qualifications and experience required
  • Advanced University Degree in Psychology, Social Work and Sociology and other related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience on sustainable livelihoods or marginalized populations in particular prisoners.
  • At least 3 years of documented experience in developing, facilitating/delivering interactive/participatory training sessions in the area prisons health, prisoners and ex-prisoners reintegration and rehabilitation, psychosocial and legal counseling, etc. Documented experience in conducting TOT.
  • Excellent skills in presenting complex technical information in an easily comprehensible way.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in working within complex and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to deliver high quality products in a timely manner

 

 
The candidate must have a mandate to train correctional services staff and has prior approval and access to Prisons and correctional service staff.
