Financial accounting (Actuals) – Monthly:
1. Reviewing operational reports & raising queries with the operations on variances between actuals vs prior year vs budget vs forecasts.
2. Attending finance calls with the operations to understand the variances in order to assist in producing the monthly management report pack.
3. Preparation of the monthly management reports for the Wireless CEO and for the Group CFO for review by the Group Financial Controller.
4. Preparation of the board reports on a monthly basis for review by the Group Financial Controller.
5. Detailed quarterly reviews of the consolidations prepared by The Group Consolidation Accountant including: reviewing all journal entries raised in hyperion, reviewing all excel supporting schedules containing calculations to backup the journal entries raised & reviewing the hyperion reports.
Financial accounting – Annually:
1. Preparation of the Global Annual Financial Statements.
2. Prepare documentation for the auditors: impairment reviews, impact of future accounting policies, justification to consolidate E, operating segments, going concern assessment etc etc.
3. Assist Head of Group Financial Accounting with ensuring that audit report items are cleared by the underlying entities.
Hyperion Financial Management:
The Head of Group Financial Accounting is the HFM system owner, thus the Group Financial Accountant will need to work closely with the HFM support team & assist the Head of Group Financial Accounting with the following in HFM:
1. Test any HFM system changes in the development application before bringing any system changes into the live application.
2. Set up smartview reports in HFM that will assist with analysis & interpretation of results in HFM.
3. Improving the financial reports in HFM.
Other:
1. IFRS technical resource – advising the Group of any IFRS changes & the possible impact this may have on the Group Results.
2. Detailed involvement in a possible HFM rebuild / SAP implementation.
3. Assisting the Head of Group Financial Accounting / Group Financial Controller with any other ad hoc requests.
